Temoku Planter |
The brown and black areas on this planter
are typical of this traditional Japanese glaze.
It has splashes of a white glaze that breaks and mottles over
the darker background color. As sometimes occurs, shiny silvery
metallic areas developed on this piece. It is nice when this
happens. Stoneware clay, fired in a slightly reducing atmosphere
to 2425°F (1310°C).
These planters are perfectly designed to keep your plants happy. These larger ones have three 5/8" drainage holes at the bottom that are level to the floor of the pot. This makes sure that the water won't collect in a pool at the bottom until it is high enough to drain out (we have seen others made that way!). Our planters are waterproof, and don't "sweat" like the red clay terra cotta pots you often find. Contact us if you have any specific planter needs. |
