Raku Crackle Vase |
All Raku pieces are porous and may sweat. Use a liner such as a plastic bag or glass insert when using as a flower vase. This vase has a clear crackle glaze on it. It is fired to approximately 1800°F (982°C), and then removed while orange hot from the kiln with metal tongs. As the glaze cools rapidly, it tends to crackle, and the smoke will fill the crackle as well as smoke blacken the porous clay pot.
Orders taken if this one is sold. Though no two pieces will fire out exactly the same, this glaze is very similar from firing to firing. |
