Grid Platter VIII
GK 065 The Grid Platter Series grew out of a desire to create a very controlled geometric pattern with a "twist". All the squares on the plattter are the same glaze except one. To achieve precision in glazing requires the tedious, skillful application of the glazes. Glazes are not like paint. Multiple layers of the same glaze need to be applied to achieve richness in color. Until the piece goes through the final firing, you do not know for sure what the results will be. This Grid Platter VIII is unique because of the way the fire washed over the piece, creating a gentle gradation of color across the squares. Fired to 2425°F (1310°C). Porcelain clay, fired in a highly reducing atmosphere. Buy it while it is still available ! Contact us if you have any questions about this piece. We do other custom sized platters, just let us know your particular needs. |
