We have been making this style of vase for quite a few years now, and though some may look similar, no two are alike! We always glaze the inside with one of the colors used on the outside. Gray-white stoneware clay, fired in an oxidizing atmosphere to 2425°F (1310°C).

We call this one the Blue Phoenix design. If we give a name at all to these pieces, it will usually have the name of a bird or other flying creature. These vases are very highly fired, and are completely water tight. They will not "sweat" and leave a ring on your furniture.
