Tile Gallery - Bamboo in the Sunlight

This tile has a picture of bamboo in the sunlight. It is handpainted using Japanese sumi-e brushes with high temperature underglaze colors. Then it has a thin coating of a clear glaze sprayed over it. After the glaze is dry, it is fired to 2250°F (1260°C). This is a Stoneware clay, fired in an oxidation atmosphere. All tiles are 12" x 20" x ½ unless otherwise noted. Other sizes starting at 2" x 2" and larger, are available in ¼ to ½ thicknesses or greater. Solid colors or smaller tiles with images of your choosing are also available by custom order.

Orders taken if this one is sold.Though no two pieces will fire out exactly the same, this glaze is very similar from firing to firing.
